PLEASE NOTE: If you are also planning to participate in Freshman Summer Start Program (FSSP), you will not register for INT W 25 through GOLD. Instead you will select the course when you submit your FSSP Course Preference Form. If you need assistance email fssp@summer.ucsb.edu.
Students participating in MAX will receive a campus scholarship for INTW25 (Bridge to STEM) tuition in Summer Session B. Students must still pay campus-based fees of $546.69 and a technology fee of $39.80, so the total cost of the course will be $586.49. Please note: if you enroll in the course, a total of $1702.49 will appear on your summer bill, but the scholarship will be applied upon successful completion of the course and only $546.69 will remain.
When you join MAX, you'll gain:
-
Experience with a challenging, supportive course that will help you with your major
-
Access to a community of peers and mentors
-
New academic relationships with faculty and graduate student teaching assistants
-
A community of other students who are also interested in STEM
The MAX Program begins when you enroll in INTW25, "Bridge to STEM," an online course offered during Summer Session B (August 5-September 14, 2024). This course has synchronous (online/at the same time) meetings on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays and asynchronous (on your own time) work on Mondays and Fridays.
There is no cost to continue participating in MAX during Fall quarter. Students will receive mentoring from undergraduates and UCSB faculty as part of their participation.
Each MAX session is identical, so you can choose the best time for your schedule.
